Literacy night was a great success. The night started with a real-life story teller. Mr. Johnson, a 92 year old member of Elm Grove Baptist Church, shared stories from his life. Students and parents participated in many hands-on activities.

Students demonstrating good behavior at Dalton were treated to a Spirit Day Pep Rally presented by the band, dancers and cheerleaders from Istrouma.

Dalton Elementary students celebrated Veteran's Day by gathering together and singing patriotic songs. Joel Jackson, Jr. sang the National Anthem and the Istrouma Color Guard presented the colors. Mr. Charles Brumfield, a teacher at Dalton, was recognize for his service in the military.

Open House was a huge success. Parents were able to meet Dalton's new pincipal, Ms. Collins. Teachers opened their classrooms and invited parents to see the learning experiences being offered at Dalton Elementary. Click school to see pictures.

In January, students demonstrating good behavior were rewarded with an opportunity to attend a performance by the Baton Rouge Ballet Company.
